My name is Algen and I am a programmer and a designer with extensive experience in the creation and development of web and print marketing collateral for businesses, non-profits and special events. My key area of focus is in web work with a unique design style that incorporates illustration, animation and interactivity.
My Background
My major in college was Interactive Media in Visual Communication and Design. After college I went right into freelancing. It got me working with various types of clients which made me a better print and web designer. After two years of it, I landed a full time job at an advertising agency called Market One in Cleveland, Ohio. Working for Market One and freelancing allowed me to have a wide portfolio of design skills which could take me into many different sectors of business. But I chose to follow the web design/developer path. After Market One I started off going freelancing again while looking for a permanent job in San Diego, California, creating and developing websites.
I became familiar with W3C web standards and building sites to meet all accessibility guidelines. I then started work as a web developer in 2011 at encompus, a print graphics and web design studio in San Diego, California.
Present
My role at encompus was to be the web programmer. I work closely with the team of talented graphic designers, and developed most of encompus web sites.
encompus focuses on bringing increased visibility to a company through a variety of verbal and visual communications. A list of work and the website of encompus can be found here.
